Apprentices

Apprentices

Our approach is to work closely with the wide number of established specialist partners and education providers such as Uxbridge College, Evolve and BUILD in the borough to deliver our apprenticeships. To identify candidates we also build strong and lasting relationships with referral partners in close proximity to the development sites such as job centre plus, NEET teams, local sixth forms and colleges.

Higgins are proud to be part of the 5% club , which is a movement of employers working to create a shared prosperity across the UK by campaigning for greater skills training. As part of our membership, we commit to achieve 5% of our workforce in 'earn and learn' apprenticeship positions.

During the project to increase the uptake of apprenticeships, in collaboration we propose to hold:

  • Local job advertising – online and posters
  • Job fairs
  • Drop in information sessions
  • Advice, guidance & signposting
  • CV and mock interview workshops
  • School/ college workshops
